ONNI-POIKA

My own picture book series for children called Onni-poika started in 2007 and since then one book has come out every year. At the moment they are 15. The series tells stories about everyday life of Onni and his family. It tells also about going to kindergarten, becoming big brother, recycling, getting a pet, going to grannies and missing home. Onni is hilarious and open minded fellow who defends also the neighbourhood park from being destroyed under street constructions. Some Onni-poika books are translated in Chinese and Corean. I organize Onni-poika workshops throughout the year in libraries and culture events. In the library of Kallio in Helsinki there is a cute Onni-poika reading hut.
